Caithness Horizons are going Christmas Crazy on the weekend of 16-17th November 2018 and we would like to invite you to take part! The Market will run from on Friday 16th November from 10am - 4pm with set up from 8.30am and it will also run on Saturday 17th November from 10am - 3pm. As part of the festive celebrations, we are holding our Annual Christmas Market with stalls placed throughout our beautiful building.
Our next exhibition at Caithness Horizons is called Graffito. Breaking the boundaries of what is art and what gets shown in a gallery, Graffito is an exhibition that celebrates artwork that is available to everyone.
Thursday 20th September 2018 sees the opening of the fourth concert season of Music in Thurso, which sees world class musicians coming to Caithness to perform. Set up following the closure of Thurso Live Music Association, Music in Thurso aims to host a wide variety of classical music concerts to appeal to audiences of all ages.

We are delighted to welcome Blas Festival to Lyth Arts Centre! Blas Festival was devised by The Highland Council in partnership with Fèisean nan Gàidheal and the Promoters Arts Network to celebrate the culture of traditional music and Gaelic in the Highlands of Scotland. This evenings performances includes two sets of musicians: Adam Sutherland & Marc Clement and Josie Duncan & Pablo Lafuente.

Blas, which means ‘taste' or ‘sample', is organised by Fèisean nan Gàidheal in partnership with The Highland Council and will take place from 7-15th September. It aims to celebrate Gaelic culture and the thriving Scottish traditional music scene over nine days of concerts, cèilidhs and larger events in venues across the Highlands and Islands.

We are delighted to invite you to the opening of Lyth Arts Centre's Summer Exhibition: From Wifey to Wifie. From Wifey to Wifie explores the changing roles of women in Caithness from 1918 through to the present day.
Lyth Arts Centre are excited to host one of Scottish folk music's most accomplished singer/songwriters, Orkney's very own Ivan Drever. Now living in Norway, Ivan spends a large portion of his days on the road, touring the length and breadth of the British Isles, USA and northern Europe.

Scotland's leading creative industries festival, XpoNorth has announced the line-up of bands set to take the stage across various Inverness venues. The much-anticipated live music showcase takes place across the 27th & 28th of June 2018 and boasts a diverse selection of Scottish artists including Annie Booth, Beta Waves, Tamzene, Zoe Graham plus many more.

Shattered, a new play written by Lisa Nicoll will tour Scotland from 19 May. Inspired by interviews and life experiences, Shattered deals with the universal themes of grief, loss and isolation as well as the things that are left unsaid between the people to whom we are sometimes the closest.

Blas Festival to showcase young musicians and their choice of bands for Year of Young People 2018. The Highland Capital will ring to the sound of hundreds of young people performing traditional music and song as the finale to this year's Blas Festival in a special event to mark Scotland's Year of Young People 2018.

Artists Sans façon and OSA have unveiled their new concept for ‘the Gathering Place,' the centrepiece of the River Ness Public Art project. The artwork, entitled ‘My Ness,' will be sited at the Little Isle Pool, Fisherman's Car Park, and will provide a focal point for people to gather, linger and enjoy an area of great natural beauty in the centre of the city.

Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) has announced £370,000 support to Fèisean nan Gàidheal for the next three years. In partnership with Creative Scotland, Bòrd na Gàidhlig and local authorities, HIE's investment will help the organisation improve and build upon the success it has generated over the last 35 years.
