Ivan Drever June 24, 2018 At Lyth Arts

Lyth Arts Centre are excited to host one of Scottish folk music's most accomplished singer/songwriters, Orkney's very own Ivan Drever. Now living in Norway, Ivan spends a large portion of his days on the road, touring the length and breadth of the British Isles, USA and northern Europe.
With a career spanning over four decades, he is famed for both his solo work and his partnerships with Duncan Chilsholm and Ian Cooper (known collectively as The Knowe O'Deil). During the 1990s he was also the front man of the rock band Wolfstone.
Ivan’s songs and tunes have enjoyed world-wide acclaim over the years, with one of his collaborative works, Heart & Soul (co-written with Duncan Chisholm), featuring in the Robin Williams film Good Will Hunting. This gig promises to be a real treat for fans of Scottish folk music, so do not miss it.

A cinematic meditation on humanity's massive reengineering of the planet, ANTHROPOCENE: The Human Epoch is a four years in the making feature documentary film following the research of an international body of scientists, the Anthropocene Working Group. From concrete seawalls in China, to the biggest terrestrial machines ever built in Germany, to psychedelic potash mines in Russia's Ural Mountains, to metal festivals in the closed city of Norilsk, to the devastated Great Barrier Reef in Australia and surreal lithium evaporation ponds in the Atacama desert.
