Murray Lamond has pulled off a small coup in the music scene in Wick by bringing back the blues singer Kent DuChaine. The well travelled singer with several albums to his name and used hitting the blues scene all over Euroipe and the US is in Mackays Hotel on Saturday 9th September from 9.00pm.
The Mill theatre in Thurso has a packed programme in September for anyone who enjoys live events. Macbeth 30 August - Macbeth is presently underway and there are only a few tickets left for tonight 31 August.
This years panto from Thurso Players is 'Sleeping Beauty' and will be directed by Andrew Crawford. Auditions will be held in the Mill Theatre at 2.30pm on Sunday 3rd September.
A Busy Time at the Mill In 1604 William Shakespeare in his zeal to please King James I, an authority on demonology, cast caution and imagination aside and for the opening scene of Macbeth's Act IV he reproduced a 17th century black-magic ritual, a sort of how-to to budding witches. The Society of Caithness Artists are holding their 71st annual exhibition this summer. But with the closure of the Thurso Town Hall for renovation work, they were faced with the task of finding another venue in the town to display their paintings.

Caithness Quilters held another successful exhibition in Assembly Rooms Wick on 27 July 2006. Hi Folks, late again with this, but better late than never. Due to very poor attendances over the last few months, we find ourselves with a cash flow problem! This is the reason we do not have a guest artiste this month.
The Caithness Music Festival has had another great week with lot of entries. As always the flow of children across the county from rural schools to Wick and thurso has kept the buses very busy.

Wick Player's chairman Drew MacLeod welcomed everyone to the open evening to celebrate the move into the premises at Moray Street after many years of working with only a small storage space. The new place provides workshops, rehearsal space, wardrobe space, small meeting rooms and lots of storage.

The concert held in the Episcopal Church, Wick on Friday 26 May 2006, by Wick Choral. The concert was well attended and the audience were treated to items from Wick Choral, Caithness Handbell Ringers and a short Organ Recital by Margaret Widdowson.
Quayside formed during the summer of 2005. Margaret MacDonald, who has sung locally for a number of years, and Bob Turner, who plays guitar, teamed up to provide support to a charity concert in the Wick Youth Club.
