Caithness Arts Drama Festival
Caithness Arts will be presenting a mini 'Festival of Drama' early next month. Grey Coast Theatre Company will be spearheading the festival with a new play from Caithness writer George Gunn.
As You Like It - At The Mill Theatre, Thurso
Thurso Players are busy gearing up for their latest production and, with an onstage cast of 21 along with an offstage support team of 20, it is proving to be a quite a considerable undertaking. Directed by Denise Imrie, 'As You Like It', is a pastoral comedy by William Shakespeare written between 1598 and1600 and first published in the folio of 1623.

Thurso Players Pantomime 2007 - Jack & The Beanstalk
Thurso Players invite you to come along and meet the 'Trotts' at their annual Christmas Panto at Thurso High School. This year's production, Jack & the Beanstalk starts its run at 7.30pm on Wednesday 12th December and will be on, at the same time, each evening up to and including Saturday 15th December.

Thurso Players take to the stage again later this month in what has been one of their busiest years for amateur productions. The latest offering, 'Educating Rita', directed by Iain MacDonald, is a play for two characters and is set entirely in a lecturer's office at a Liverpool University.

Northumbrian based duo Landermason will be performing at Thurso's Mill Theatre next week as part of their extensive UK tour, promoting their latest album release, 'The Reason'. Thurso Players' latest production, 'Habeas Corpus', directed by John Glen, takes to the stage for a three night run starting on Tuesday 26th June. Now, while 'Habeas Corpus' is a legal term meaning 'you must have the body' this is not a play about a trial, rather it is an early treasure from the pen of renowned playwright Alan Bennett.

Record Entries From Caithness For SCDA Highland Division Youth Festival
This year sees a record entry for the Scottish Community Drama Association (SCDA) Highland Division with a total of six team entries from Halkirk, Wick and Thurso. Because of this interest the Festival will be held over two nights, Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th March.Scottish Community Drama Association District - Adult Festival 2007
Saturday 24th February sees the Scottish Community Drama Association's 75th District Adult Festival which takes place in The Assembly Rooms, Wick. With entries from both Wick Players and Thurso Players it's sure to make for an entertaining evening.
'The Jolly Beggars and a' That'
January sees the return of the programme featuring Professional artists to Thurso's Mill Theatre which starts of in style with a celebration of the works of Robert Burns in song and verse. 'The Jolly Beggars and a' That' is an informal performance of a little known but superb musical play (Cantata) by Burns consisting of eight poems and eight songs.

This years panto from Thurso Players is 'Sleeping Beauty' and will be directed by Andrew Crawford. Auditions will be held in the Mill Theatre at 2.30pm on Sunday 3rd September.

A Busy Time at the Mill In 1604 William Shakespeare in his zeal to please King James I, an authority on demonology, cast caution and imagination aside and for the opening scene of Macbeth's Act IV he reproduced a 17th century black-magic ritual, a sort of how-to to budding witches. Wick Players Open Night Celebrates New Premises
Wick Player's chairman Drew MacLeod welcomed everyone to the open evening to celebrate the move into the premises at Moray Street after many years of working with only a small storage space. The new place provides workshops, rehearsal space, wardrobe space, small meeting rooms and lots of storage.
