Scottish Community Drama Association District - Adult Festival 2007
Saturday 24th February sees the Scottish Community Drama Association's 75th District Adult Festival which takes place in The Assembly Rooms, Wick. With entries from both Wick Players and Thurso Players it's sure to make for an entertaining evening.

'The Jolly Beggars and a' That'
January sees the return of the programme featuring Professional artists to Thurso's Mill Theatre which starts of in style with a celebration of the works of Robert Burns in song and verse. 'The Jolly Beggars and a' That' is an informal performance of a little known but superb musical play (Cantata) by Burns consisting of eight poems and eight songs.

Do You Want To Be In Panto?
This years panto from Thurso Players is 'Sleeping Beauty' and will be directed by Andrew Crawford. Auditions will be held in the Mill Theatre at 2.30pm on Sunday 3rd September.

MacBeth At The Mill, Thurso 30 August - 2 September
A Busy Time at the Mill In 1604 William Shakespeare in his zeal to please King James I, an authority on demonology, cast caution and imagination aside and for the opening scene of Macbeth's Act IV he reproduced a 17th century black-magic ritual, a sort of how-to to budding witches. Without changing an ingredient, Shakespeare provided his audience with step-by-step instructions in the furtive art of spell casting: "Round around the cauldron go; In the poison'd entrails throw.

Wick Players Open Night Celebrates New Premises
Wick Player's chairman Drew MacLeod welcomed everyone to the open evening to celebrate the move into the premises at Moray Street after many years of working with only a small storage space. The new place provides workshops, rehearsal space, wardrobe space, small meeting rooms and lots of storage.

Thurso Players Present Dracula At The Mill Theatre
18 - 20 May 2006 Dracula has been adapted many times and a script by Liz Lochhead has been chosen for this production of Bram Stoker's chilling love story The adaptation has a touch of modern tongue and with with this is mind has had a modern direction. Don't go expecting to see a flowing red cape and a badly constructed Transylvanian accent.

Two Ambitious Thurso Teenagers Win Places On Youth Theatre Course
Two talented Thurso teenagers are on their first step of the ladder to becoming the next big screen legends. The girls have achieved a place with the Scottish Youth Theatre in Glasgow, on the esteemed Summer Festival Foundation Course.
