Thurso Players invite you to come along and meet the 'Trotts' at their annual Christmas Panto at Thurso High School. This year's production, Jack & the Beanstalk starts its run at 7.30pm on Wednesday 12th December and will be on, at the same time, each evening up to and including Saturday 15th December.

As in the past, there will be a Matinee performance for younger children at 2.00pm on Saturday and a signed performance for the hard of hearing on Thursday 13th. Directed by Dot Murphy, this year's offering is very much youth dominated with two thirds of the cast coming from the Junior/Youth Membership section of the club and provides a great opportunity for these young actors to display their talents honed over several years participation in the annual 'Whoops' Summer Drama Workshops.

Apart from the Trotts, look out for Daisy the Cow, the Vegetable Fairy, the evil Fleshcreep and of course the Giant Blunderbore who stands over nine feet tall as the Players weave a tapestry of words and music into the magical experience that is Pantomime. Tickets, priced at 7.00 and 5.00 are available from G. McBeath's Jewellers, Traill Street, Thurso. Sales so far have been brisk so get yours early to avoid disappointment!

The family Trott (l to r) Jack, the hero of the piece (Andrew Ross), Dame Trott (Glyn Jackson) and the bumbling Silly Billy (Kevin MacLeod).

The Birthday Party is about Stanley Webber, an erstwhile piano player in his 30s, who lives in a run down boarding house, run by Meg and Petey Boles, in an English seaside town, probably on the south coast, not too far from London.  Two sinister strangers, Goldberg and McCann, who arrive supposedly on his birthday and who appear to have come looking for him, turn Stanleys apparently innocuous birthday party organised by Meg into a nightmare.
