New Baldrick For Wick Pipe Band
On Hogmanay evening the Opera House at Ackergill Tower was the setting for a short ceremony at which the Directors of Ackergill Ltd presented a new baldric, or Drum Major's sash, to Wick RBLS Pipe Band in recognition of the friendly ties which exist between the Company and the Band. Before making the presentation Mrs Arlette Banister invited the Drum Major, Alistair Lamont, to explain to the assembled house guests the origins and purpose of the baldric.18/12/2002
MADD Singers Entertain Wick Rotary At Christmas
Wick Rotary Club Christmas night out at Mackays hotel, Wick was an enjoyable evening helped along by entertainment from the MADD singers. There is a strong Caithness connection as Gibson was born and brought up in Wick, and attended both Wick North and Wick High schools before going to Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh to study pharmacy.2/11/2002

The Thurso Pipe Band are back from their trip to Brilon in Germany - the twin town of Thurso. The band were over for four days and played at a variety of venues including the Stadt Festival, an Old folks Home and a church.Concert In St John's Wick
The Caithness Handbell Ringers were joined in St John's church, Wick by Erica Sinclair on the clarsach, Craig Campbell on the organ and Bruce Gordon on the bassoon for an evening of music that included music by John Denver, Bach and Mozart. New Band Rising - SUX is a hit in Lybster
The boys played an Under-18s gig in Lybster to help raise funds for the local youth club. A great turnout heard the guys play a range of numbers from Lynard Skynard to Jimmy Eat World.Seeking New Singers
