Oedipus The Chief - Grey Coast Theatre At Lyth
OEDIPUS THE CHIEF, a new play by George Gunn will be performed by Grey Coast Theatre Company at LYTH ARTS CENTRE, Caithness at 8.00 pm on Saturday 18th June.   A dynamic presentation directed by Eric Tessier-Lavigne in a moved reading with JULIA DALKIN, ADAM ROBERTSON, BRIAN SMITH, FINLAY MACLEAN and HELEN MACKAY with a community chorus.

Excellent Funding Opportunities For Caithness
The Highland 2007 Community Programme is an excellent opportunity for small Caithness groups and charities to fund projects that will take place in 2007, or that take place in 2005 and 2006 with a 2007 finale.  A local Highland 2007 Management Group has already been set up to consider applications and now welcomes applications for projects from all walks of Caithness life: arts, sport, heritage, science, environment and language.

Highland 2007
In March 2003, after the failure of the bid by Inverness to become City of Culture, Jack McConnell announced Highland 2007 as a project that would celebrate Highland culture across Scotland.   Whether you're inspired or cynical about this project, Caithness artists can seize the opportunity to benefit from funding offered by the tri-partite partnership of the Scottish Executive, Highlands & Islands Enterprise and Highland council.

An exhibition and sale of patchwork and quilting items was held in the Town and County Club, Back Bridge Street Wick, on 20 November 2004.   Dr Pat Robertson who is chairman of Diabetes UK opened the Exhibition and Sale which was to raise funds for the Caithness Branch.

The Caithness & North Sutherland Children's Choir sang at the The Boys Brigade Anniversary Reception in Thurso.  Caithness councillors welcomed the Boys Brigade Representatives from all over the UK to a civic reception to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of William Smith founder of the Boys Brigade..

UKAEA Dounreay have sponsored uniforms for Caithness & North Sutherland Children's Choir, which is run for children from Primary 4 age to Secondary 2.  Throughout the year the choir sings at local events entertaining all ages of the community.
