During today's meeting of the Environment, Development and Infrastructure Committee Councillors has agreed to contribute £30,000 to continue a feasibility study into the expansion and redevelopment of Eden Court Theatre. The £30,000, which will be coming from the Development and Infrastructure service budget, will be match-funded by Highlands and Islands Enterprise and carries on from earlier work funded by HIE and the Inverness Common Good Fund to support the future vision for the theatre.

The Highland Council is considering whether to include theatres within its public entertainment licensing regime when the Theatres Act 1968 is no longer in force and seeks public and stakeholders opinion on this matter. The Highland Licensing Committee met on 6 August 2019 and agreed to undertake a public consultation exercise.

The UK's most northerly mainland distillery, Dunnet Bay Distillers, is scouring the UK for exceptional artwork to feature in its debut exhibition, ‘Inspired by Gin'. The distillery will play host to the exhibition from December 2019 - March 2020 at its new Visitor Centre, which is a VisitScotland 5 Star Visitor Attraction and a centre for food and drink, culture and heritage tourism.
