*** Booking is essential to avoid disappointment ***. Back by extremely popular demand so much we have had to put on an extra concert in a bigger venue! The Budapest Cafe Orchestra were established in 2009 by British composer, violinist and band leader, Christian Garrick.

The Budapest Cafe Orchestra went down such a storm last time round in 2015 that we just had to invite them back. There was so much demand for this amazing group we had to put on a smaller extra afternoon concert to meet the demand for people what to hear them! The band will play a mix of traditional folk and gypsy flavoured music from across the world.

Thurso Library May 6th 10am doors, workshop 10:30 - noon This is a free workshop for all ages with the support of Alexandria Patience, local interdisciplinary artist and storyteller, with the hope some will submit a piece of writing for the Scottish Book Trust call for stories on the theme of NOURISH for this years Book Week Scotland free publication. http://scottishbooktrust.com/writing/nourish/ People can book onto workshops through Eventbrite, which is very simple.

All Singers and Orchestral Musicians are warmly invited to Come and Sing or Play Handel's "Messiah" with The Caithness Orchestra, conducted by Susie Dingle. There is a charge of £10 per participant.

It may have been Saturday April 1st, but the audiences at Highland Young Musicians Concerts Festival in Eden Court were certainly anything but fools as they had chosen to attend the event. For their efforts they were treated to two spectacular concerts featuring Highland Regional Youth Orchestra; Còisir G; Highland Youth String Orchestra and Highland Youth Big Band in addition to special guests from Inverness Royal Academy ‘Pipes ‘n' Funk'.

FUNBOX is the brand new show from Anya Scott-Rodgers, Gary Coupland and Kevin Macleod. Bringing a wealth of experience from their days as performers and writers of The Singing Kettle, they have created a sparkling new show for kids of all ages - from nought to 90 - maintaining the balance of traditional singalong songs and brand new compositions, but with a distinctly Scottish flavour.

Over 300 young musicians from across the Highlands have been busy rehearsing for their unique showcase Concerts Festival which will feature the eight diverse groups working under the umbrella of Highland Young Musicians. Held in the Osprey Arena at MacDonald Aviemore Resort on Saturday 19 November, the first of the day's concerts (at 3pm) will feature Highland Youth Wind Band; Còisir G (Gaelic choir) Highland Youth Big Band and Highland Pulse (drumming group inspired by Top Secret, Swiss drum corps).

As the Royal National Mòd reaches its final day of competitions in the Western Isles, it has been announced that Inverness will host the Mòd in 2020. Scotland's biggest Gaelic cultural festival will return to the capital of the Highlands for the first time since 2014.

The High Life Highland Leadership Programme currently has around 1400 young people across the Highlands aged between 12-25 years registered. Last week 8 young leaders from across the Highlands were put through their paces by tutor, Active Schools Co-Ordinator Danny Steele.

Council issues Halloween appeal to drivers. The Highlands biggest theatrical experience and fancy dress event of the year, the Inverness Common Good Fund sponsored Halloween Show will be staged on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th October on Ness Islands.
