On 4th May The National Theatre of Scotland returns to Thurso in the guise of Rob Drummond who is bringing his unique, innovative, and highly entertaining one man show, Mr Write, to the Mill Theatre. Tickets priced at the special price of £6 and £4 concession, are now available for purchase at Caithness Horizons.

Fiddle tuition is now available worldwide via Skype with Session A9 fiddler Gordon Gunn. Gordon is a much in demand fiddle tutor having taught all over the UK, USA & Canada and is currently one of the tutors on the NC course at the National Centre Of Excellence In Traditional Music in Plockton.
'A moment in time', an exhibition of work by two Latheronwheel artists got off to a flying start at the North Lands Creative Glass gallery at Quatre Bras, Lybster on Friday evening. A collection of paintings by Jane McDonough and photographic prints by Angus Mackay proved a big attraction, with over 100 people attending the preview night.
Highland rock band, ESTRELLA, is destined to make big waves in the coming months with the release of their debut album - "Come Out To Play" - on 21 May 2012. An exciting time for these full time musicians, who are set to play a handful of Scottish dates, before heading out on a full UK tour in May/June.

The Highland Council is delighted to present Spirit of Air, a body of work by leading willow artist Lizzie Farey which opens at the Iona Gallery in Kingussie on Saturday (7 May) before touring the Highlands. Spirit of Air presents a new body of expressive willow works by Lizzie Farey including a series of large scale wall-based and suspended works.
Fifty four local actors are currently in rehearsal for Caithness's five entries into the Scottish Community Drama Association annual One Act Play Festival. The plays will be publicly adjudicated over the SCDA festival's two nights on 25th and 26th Feb, performing at Thurso High School 7pm What makes this year's festival unique is that each of the two nights performances will feature both youth and adult entries, providing audiences with a variety of entertainment, and insight from adjudicator, Ron Nichol.
A group of pupils from five Highland secondary schools have created an exhibition which is their interpretation of the works of American artist Ed Ruscha. 'Ruscha's Room - Seòmraichean Luchd-ealain' is currently at Inverness Museum & Art Gallery until 12 February 2011.
Swanson Gallery, Thurso exhibits work of acclaimed American artist Ed Ruscha - Major works from Four Decades ARTIST ROOMS on Tour with the Art Fund supported by The Scottish Government Major drawings by Ed Ruscha, one of the most influential and pioneering American artists of the past half-century, will be opening at the Swanson Gallery, Thurso Library on Saturday 15th January until 26th February as part of ARTIST ROOMS, the important new public collection of international post-war and contemporary art that independent charity the Art Fund is helping to tour across the UK. ARTIST ROOMS is jointly owned and managed by National Galleries of Scotland and Tate on behalf of the nation.

The second Art Show got underway on Friday 29th May 2010 when it was opened by local MSP Jamie Stone. The second Latheron Art show has been well supported by a large numberof artists entering their work.
UK country music fans will be able to tune in for live performances from acclaimed national and international country music artists in a new television series, Ceòl Country to be broadcast this month on BBC ALBA. Ceòl Country is a six-part series produced by mneTV to showcase the best music from this year's Caithness Country Music and Creetown Country Music festivals, and will hit our screens from Tuesday 20 October.
Caithness Arts will be presenting a mini 'Festival of Drama' early next month. Grey Coast Theatre Company will be spearheading the festival with a new play from Caithness writer George Gunn.
