Rush.dance competitive team have just competed at MAD street dance championships in Motherwell. Results on the day, SOLO results - U10 Beginner *Winner* Ruby Mann, 3rd place Koby Sutherland.
Thurso come Dancing members are going from strength to strength and doing well increasing their levels of dancing that have been recognised in the awards received at recent tests. 10 members travelled to Lossiemouth to be tested and one member was tested on a video.
St Fergus Gallery, Wick Library To mark the Centenary of the First World War this exhibition of photographic work by Scottish photographer Peter Cattrell includes quiet, reflective landscapes from the Somme. Catrell's interest in the Somme was sparked upon the discovery of a photograph of his great uncle, William Wyatt Bagshawe, with three of his companions from the Sheffield 'Pals' Battalion.

Rush.dance have just competed at UDO Central Scotland street dance championships in Perth, this is the first Qualifier for next year's World street dance championships. Thousands of dancers from all over Scotland came all hoping to make a final and qualify for next year’s big one ‘the World championships’ Solo’s U6 Open, Erna Thain *Runner up* (she is only 3 years old and competing against kids up to age 5+ just shows how fantastic this little worker has done) U8 Novice, Troy Giles *WINNER* and new Scottish Central champion, Ava Cook 4th place.

Visit the film production at the St Fergus Gallery from 19th September to 17th October 2015 by Rachel Maclean, The Weepers. The Weepers was commissioned by Comar on Mull, the film examines the legend of Bean Nighe or Washer Women, a monstrous and ominous spirit.

Tuesday 11th August saw local group No Limits Caithness visit the Museum for a morning packed with Viking activities with Curator Joanne Howdle, or Thordis Eiríksdóttir as she is fondly known to local groups and schools. The group helped the Museum to hit the half million visitors mark and to celebrate they were presented with a special cake made in the Museum's cafe.

Rush.dance competition kids have just competed at MJN Promotions Hip Hop Trophy day in Grangemouth. Willie Miller said, "it's awesome when your school competes hard and then the kids get the rewards, again today Rush.dance showed we are major contenders in the Hip Hop world, teachers Rebecca & Willie Miller are really proud of our achievements at this comp." A Flows to the Future event in partnership with Dunbeath Preservation Trust. Join a writing workshop with Caithness-born writer George Gunn, who will also share his own writings inspired by the peatlands, including some written for the Radio 4 series in 1999, called "The Peatbog Diaries".
Caithness Horizons in Thurso has secured Museum Accreditation for the next three years. The award is made by Museums Galleries Scotland and Arts Council England under the 2011 Museum Accreditation Standard.
