Music school to host piping book launch

The National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music and Plockton High School are delighted to be hosting the Highland launch of a significant new book on piping.  “A Piper’s Tale” is full of fascinating and entertaining stories from some of the world’s greatest pipers.  

New Public Art Fund Launched

Creative Scotland has announced that its Public Arts Fund is open for applications.   The purpose of the fund is to enable the production of high quality public art projects that bring artists, people and places together.

Caithness Gigs Brings More Music To The County

Hot on the heels of another great Bfest, there's more good news for music fans in Caithness with the launch of "Caithness Gigs".  The new company has been set up as a not-for-profit venture to bring the best in live music to Wick and Thurso and give local musicians a platform to develop their careers.  

The Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm Demonstrator Project: an Illustrated Lecture

Final part of an education programme to complement Sue Jane Taylor’s exhibition ‘Beatrice Works’ – on display at Caithness Horizons until 22nd August 2013.   Paris has the Eiffel Tower, Bristol has the Clifton Suspension Bridge, and Dundee the Tay Rail Bridge.
