Who Is The Best? - A Battle Of The Bands Competition
17th May 2006
MUSIC LINK MEDIA LAUNCHES IT'S VERY OWN BATTLE OF THE BANDS BUT WITH A DIFFERENCE
YOU MUST PERFORM 3 SONGS, ONE MUST BE AN ORIGINAL COMPOSITION, ONE MUST BE A COVER VERSION OF A COUNTRY CLASSIC IN YOUR OWN STYLE AND ONE MUST BE EITHER A COVER OF A BLUES OR A REGGAE SONG.
Bands can be made up of 3 to 6 members and any existing bands e.g. Liquid Blue cannot enter as their own band; they must split up into new groups. Bands must also come up with an original name.
Extra points will be awarded for bands that develop their own image or style. Every band must also have at least one non musician who can help with song writing, image, sound, etc.
Band names and a list of band members must be entered by Thursday 27th May. The grand final takes place on the 15th of June. Judging will be done by a panel of local musicians and cash prizes awarded. It is also hoped that the winning band will be able to record a demo of their winning songs.
