Art Collector Visits Caithness Artist Elaine Rapson-Grant
17th September 2014
It was with great excitement that Elaine welcomed Alison Damant all the way from Bradford, England last week. Alison travelled 652 miles from Bradford to Caithness especially to meet her artist friend.
For the past year Alison had wanted to meet her new friend, who she grew to know through the collection of her artwork, so she decided to visit Caithness for a week on her holidays. Elaine said, "I feel very honoured that Alison has taken time out to visit me in my home. Alison and I have grown very close and it was great that she was able to spend a week with me in Caithness. I was able to take her round most of the tourists hotspots that Caithness has to offer. Alison stayed in a little cottage at Brough, Dunnet which is a world away from Bradford. She just loved every minute and it was lovely that we were able to meet up at long last and spend time together".
Since discovering Elaine's artwork online Alison has become one of Elaine's most avid collectors over the past year. Alison said, "Elaine's art has certainly touched my heart. I love each piece she has created and through collecting her paintings I feel so very close to her. Caithness is a magical place and Elaine has certainly portrayed this in her paintings. I have enjoyed immensely collecting her whimsical animals, beautiful butterflies, flowers and gorgeous seascapes."
