Architecture and sciences: a new naturalness
24 October, 9:30am–6:30pm
Scène nationale, Orléans

In partnership with the Réseau des maisons de l'architecture and the Maison de l'Architecture du Centre.

ArchiLab 2013 introduces the latest progress in terms of research in digital architecture and its interaction with the sciences, permitted by the simulation of growth phenomena in the living world. The problematics of ArchiLab 2013, involving digital architecture and the sciences, will be broached at an international symposium which will bring together ten exhibited architects. They will present their latest research, dealing with changes occurring in the very concept of nature and ecology.

The nature(s) of the artefact
25 October, 10am–5pm
Domaine National de Chambord

Under the scientific supervision of Frédéric Migayrou.
This interdisciplinary conference will bring together historians of art and architecture and scientists (biologists, specialists in simulation systems of the living world). They will question the sources of the Renaissance and Mannerism, linking them to the present-day arena of digital technologies.

9th ArchiLab: Naturalizing Architecture
14 September 2013–2 February 2014

This international exhibition brings together the projects of 40 architects, designers and artists who present their work and the relation it builds with nanotechnology, biotechnology and simulation.

The public has a chance to discover models, digital shows, screenings, and interactive environments, as well as experimental pavilions, specially designed for the exhibition. The challenges of this exhibition will be covered in two symposiums.
