Activities at Borgie Forest For 4 - 14 year olds

Farr Edge Summer Holiday for 4-14 year old
Tuesday 24th, Wednesday 25th & Thursday 26th July

Art, Storytelling & Drama

The traditional local-ish story of Assipattle and the Giant Stoorworm for all those bairns from 4 years old up until the 14 year olds with a dragon to be built and all kinds of fun props and stories and drama games with roles as horses and fishes and maidens and simple young men who can solve complicated problems and Kings and sparky Princesses and stinky scary scaly Dragons…

Three days in the woods with nature and creative activities and a final performance.

Okay - it is self promotion - but for a fun three day event for 4-14 year olds in the fabulous Borgie Forest Cabins.

Come and work with Skerray artist Meg Telfer, multi-disciplinary community artist from Portskerra Alex Patience, along with Sean Wyllie of Farr Edge.

£4 per day (£2 for additional sibling), some transportation from Bettyhill…. - see attached sheet for how it all works…

Tuesday 24 July
Creative arts project with Meg Telfer at the log cabin, Borgie Forest Workshop 1 - Using traditional folktale and the surrounding woodland as inspiration to create costumes and props with local artist Meg Telfer Attend all 3 days to get maximum enjoyment from this activity. If possible use own transport to Borgie log cabin. Limited transport available from Farr Edge.

Workshop 2 continuation of the above activity

Thursday 26th July
Arts & crafts with Meg Telfer at the log cabin, Borgie Forest Workshop 3 - It all comes together for the final day, a rehearsal and performance of the tale using the items created in the workshops. Parents & carers welcome to attend the performance on this date. Time TBC

Friday 27 July
Lazy Day
It's the end of the summer activities so it's time to relax! Watching a DVD film
with popcorn. Wear your PJs, dressing gown & slippers, plus a prize for the
best dressed teddy bear!
