Arts Investment Roadshows Promote Funding Opportunity

17th February 2015

Highland Cultural Strategic Board (HCSB) has secured investment funding from Creative Scotland and The Highland Council to support the implementation of its cultural strategy ‘Highland Culture- take pride, take part'.

The ‘Growing Audiences' strand of the Strategy has been identified as a priority for support and HCSB are seeking proposals from arts organisation partners to achieve the ‘growing audiences’ objectives in the Highland Council area.

High Life Highland is administering the investment programme on HCSB’s behalf and will be hosting a series of Roadshows during March to fully explain the programme and provide arts organisations with the opportunity to discuss potential proposals.

These will be held at:
GP Room, Wick Assembly Rooms, 2nd March 14.00- 15.30
Highland Archive & Registration Centre, Inverness, 3rd March 14.00- 15.30
Skye & Lochalsh Archive Centre, Portree, 4th March 14.00- 15.30

Spaces are limited so booking is essential. To book your roadshow place e-mail your name, organisation you represent and telephone number, specifying which session you will attend, to hlh.business.support[AT]highlifehighland.com or telephone 01463 663800.

The deadline for applications to the Investment Programme is 7th April 2015.

David Taylor, Portfolio Manager Special Projects at Creative Scotland, said: "Creative Scotland is delighted to work with partners in the Highland area to help the arts sector to bring about lasting change. We are looking for imaginative ideas that will help develop audiences in the long-term and allow artists to engage with the public across the region."

Councillor David Alston, Depute Leader of The Highland Council said: "It is important that the public agencies work together to support arts and culture in the Highlands and this continuing partnership of the Highland Council and Creative Scotland is part of that approach."
