Pianist/vocalist Hamish Napier (Back of The Moon, Man's Ruin) and fiddler Adam Sutherland(Treacherous Orchestra, Session A9, Croft No. 5) join forces in a new and exciting project called ‘Nae Plans‘.

Following the release of an album that was strictly unrehearsed (the pair barred any discussion between themselves about what tunes they would play or how they would arrange them until the 'record' button was pressed), the duo are taking 'Nae Plans' on the road this winter. They will perform a series of unplanned or 'off-the-cuff' gigs across Scotland this winter, showcasing the talent of two of Scotland's leading traditional musicians. The performances bring a crucial part of Scotland's music culture, the informal session, to the foreground and cast it in a fresh light, bringing its open-endedness and spontaneity onto the concert platform. The material ranges from traditional songs and tunes, to contemporary numbers, to their own compositions and improv. The live performances capture the duos' raw creativity and demonstrates their outstanding musical intuition.

Look out for their 'unusual' gigs along the way... Maintaining the 'Nae Plans' ethos, they will be playing in some very quirky places. They'll be turning heads wherever they go!

'... will blow the cobwebs- and the listeners- away' - Alex Monaghan, The Living Tradition

'... they produced a spontaneously chosen set that packed heat, skill, dynamics, fun, a tender country ballad and impromptu interaction into an allotted span that called for and was observed with precision timing' - Rob Adams, The Herald
