12th April 2014
Willie Miller of rush.dance reports -
My daughter Rebecca Miller has just competed at dancelines Euro dance International championships in Brean (England) this is one of the 3 big comps of the year in Freestyle. This competition was run over the weekend with dance styles going on Freestyle, slow dance, show dance and Hip Hop sections.
Rebecca miller who dances for Dawn Turnbull in Ayr, Competed on the Friday night what was there new all-white night, all competitors danced in white outfits and each age category. Rebecca has just moved up to youth age group and it was her first time competing at this level.
On the night there was over 120 dancers all competing to make the top grade of the elite youth final, Rebecca danced strong through seven rounds and made the amazing final and also coming away with 5th place out of 8 dancers which made the final.
Reflecting on Rebecca’s achievements on the Friday night, to make the elite youth solo Freestyle open final at her first attempt in Youth was an amazing achievement and to come out as 5th best out of dancers from all over Scotland, England, Ireland, Wales & Norway it just shows what a massive achievement what she has achieved, it clearly show what talent Rebecca has for dancing / competing and all the hard work she puts in and us as parents put in taking her to Ayr for dance lessons and to take to comps all over the UK.
Rebecca also danced on the Sunday night in her Solo section, coming away with 4th place in the Championship final.
