Rush.dance kids have just competed at the UDO World Street dance championships in SECC Glasgow.

Our kids had qualified earlier in the year to compete at the worlds championships, at the UDO Scottish championships in Motherwell.

The UDO world championships was the biggest so far over the last 7 years with 16 countries competing and over 6000 kids taking part in the SECC. Over the weekend 23rd,24th and 25th August there was Solo’s, Duo’s, Quads, Crews and different style Battles.

Winners –
U16 Duo UDO World Championship Runners Up (2nd place) Rebecca Miller & Iona McLachlan, the girls danced there way to the final and standing out in every recall. (The girls were buzzing after picking up 2nd place)

The rest of the Rush.dance kids danced amazing whilst getting recalls, making Quarter finals & Semi-finals. Rhiannon Mackay just missed out in U10 Novice section, but making the semi-finals (last 12) was an amazing achievement. Other kids taking part – Chloe MacGregor, Skye McColl, Laya Cowie, Tyler Hutton.

We also had our mums involved over the weekend - they danced in the parent/child section. Our mums/Kids got recalls (Jo Cowie/laya, Susan McColl/Skye, Shona Hutton/Tyler) and also (Tracey MacGregor/Chloe) make the quarter finals of the parent/child.

Our young Under 10 Crew *SO HYPE* danced of against 24 other crews but never made it through to the finals, as it was only our second time out as a crew. we are so pleased with their performance on the day.

Reflecting on the weekend, All the Rush.dance kids/Mums ddid us proud over the weekend, each kid danced their best and brought loads of attitude to the dance floor. We also gained lots of experience as we were up against the best street dancers from around the world.
