Rush.dance from the Highlands Win big At The Scottish Championships & take the chance to compete at the UDO World Street dance Championships in August.

The kids of Rush.dance have just competed at the UDO Scottish Championships in Glasgow with fantastic results.

We travelled on Saturday morning (Thurso / Wick) with a stop off at MAD Studios in Coat Bridge as an added bonus for the kids, they all took part in different Street dance workshops throughout the day with some of the best Street dance choreographers around. We then stayed overnight in Glasgow.

Sunday was up early again to the new Olympic arena in Glasgow, Where the UDO Scottish Championships was held.

This comp was also a Qualifier for later on in the year if the kids made the finals for the UDO World Championships!! UDO announced on the day after being at all the other Qualifiers Scotland had the Biggest turn out from around the world.

Kids competed in Solos, Duos & we put in our young Crew for the first time.

With the Scottish UDO being the biggest heat around the world, it just shows how fab the kids have done. All sections were massive so to make the semis would have been a great achievement but for the kids to make finals & place high in them was outstanding. For us to have 9 out of 11 kids qualified for the World Championships its just amazing. All the kids danced fantastic on the day making Rebecca, Steph & myself very proud, also there was a fantastic atmosphere on the Bus home with kids & parents buzzing about the results.

Rush.dance has so much on at the moment, with New kids joining classes Wick & Thurso, we have introduced a tricks class to advance the kids to learn Back flips & harder tricks. We have the Eden Court Salsa / Street Party this Saturday in Thurso precinct with demos & taster sessions on the day, Healthy living project for Halkirk school promoting dance fitness to their project & also just made video clips to audition for later on in the year for Eden Courts Big dance Show many more comps planned over the year.
