Handing in day for artists to submit up to 4 pieces of work, 50% of which must be for sale is Saturday 29th July 2017 at Thurso High School form 10am to 2pm. £8 entry to submit.22/6/2017
A new concept for the Gathering Place Inverness begins today
The artists selected for an iconic centrepiece of River Ness Public Art Programme have been announced today, 22 June 2017, at a stakeholder event held in Eden Court. The concept for the new "Gathering Place" feature will be developed by the artists, Sans façon and OSA, through consultation with people who know, live by and use the river in Inverness.21/6/2017
Highland Wind Band debut CD recording
Members and staff of Highland Youth Wind Band,(one of the eight Highland Young Musicians groups, with members from all over Highland, will be travelling to Glasgow on Sunday (25 June 2017) to embark on a 2-day professional recording of music from this year's band repertoire. Music Development Officer for The Highland Council, Norman Bolton said: "Highland Youth Wind Band has been performing to the highest levels over the past couple of years and the opportunity to record the group before many of this years experienced and loyal senior players leave school was just too good to refuse.19/6/2017
Dingwall Rock Challenge Champs Congratulated
The Dingwall and Seaforth Ward Councillors are delighted that the team from Dingwall Academy have been crowned the new Scottish Rock Challenge champions. Four Highland teams from Thurso, Alness, Invergordon and Dingwall were among the 10 schools performing at Dundee's Caird Hall on Friday night in front of a sold-out audience of 1700.8/6/2017
Independent label receives funding for digital release of first artist
Belladrum Festival record label's first signed artist will go on digital release after receiving funding from the Innovate Your Business Scheme. Within four months, 20 year old Tamzene from Cromarty has gone from busking to showcasing in front of global music industry representatives, as well as recording and performing at festivals at home and abroad.Apply now for Highland Young Musicians groups

50 pupils attend Highland Brass Day!
Fifty pupils from across Highland schools attended a Brass Day held in Inverness on Wednesday 31 May, organised by Highland Council's Instrumental Tuition Service. Those who attended were all relative beginners on their instruments and the event aimed to inspire and motivate the pupils by giving them the experience of playing in a larger group than they would ever be able to in their weekly lesson scenario.5/6/2017
