Highland Council is asking people with unwanted and unused musical instruments in their homes if they ‘Gave it up?' to ‘Pass it on!' during Pass it on Week which runs from 10 - 18 March 2018.   Pass it on Week is Scotland's annual celebration of re-use promoted by Zero Waste Scotland and recycle for Scotland.

Only the best is good enough for Highland Young Musicians
Around 250 young musicians from across the Highlands have been busy rehearsing for their unique showcase Concerts Festival which will feature the eight diverse groups working under the umbrella of Highland Young Musicians.   Held in the Osprey Arena at MacDonald Aviemore Resort on Saturday 17th March, the first of the days concerts (at 3pm) will feature ‘snas; Còisir G (with special guests Calum Alex McMillan and Innes White) and Highland Regional Youth Orchestra with Highland Youth Choir and guests Dingwall Choral Society performing John Rutter's ‘Sprig of Thyme'.

Julie Cope is a fictional character created by Grayson Perry - an Essex everywoman whose story he has told through the two tapestries and extended ballad presented in a new exhibition from the Crafts Council.  The Essex House Tapestries: The Life of Julie Cope (2015) illustrate the key events in the heroine's journey from her birth during the Canvey Island floods of 1953 to her untimely death in a tragic accident on a Colchester street.
