Lisa is looking forward to a launching her new band in on Fri Feb 25th at The Northern Nashville Country Music Club

Newcomer to the country music scene Lisa McHugh launched her new band to a packed audience at the Bushtown House Hotel, Coleraine. Immediately Lisa was introduced on stage the dance floor filled with enthusiastic dancers many of whom stayed on the floor dancing until the last song was played. The crowd danced, enjoyed and applauded, it was an excellent start to Lisa's long awaited dream. Lisa's band members are experienced in their music as her keyboard player and MD is Ray McLoughlin who played in Daniel O'Donnell's band for many years.Also included are Frank Downey (Ex Mike Denver) on lead guitar and vocals and Barry Kirwan (son of Dominic) on drums and vocals with Jimmy Hendry on Bass guitar and vocals. (Barry and Jimmy are both Ex Dominic Kirwan band members). The evening went so well that when Lisa introduced the members of her band at the end of the evening the crowd applauded and encouraged them to play an extra two sets.

Triona Moore (Daniel O'Donnell), Brian Coll, Dominic Kirwan, Nathan Carter and his manager James McGarrity (JW Promotions), Robert Mizzell, Shaun Loughrey and The Benn Sisters. Lisa now looks forward to a launching her new band in your area on Fri Feb 25th at The NNCMClub, and on Sat Feb 26th at the Social Club, Invergordon finishing on Sun Feb 27th at the Mosset Tavern, Forres. Lisa has been invited to support Roly Daniels on a ten date tour throughout Ireland during February and March.

Lisa already has received the award for Best New Female Artist 2010 at the recent 8th Annual Entertainment and Country Music Awards in November at the Glencarn Hotel, Castleblayney. She has always dream't about being in the music business and now is proving to be a girl of many talents including singing and playing music along with writing a blog in her local newspaper.

Newcomer Award Winner 22 year old Lisa was born in Glasgow to Irish parents, her Mum being from Falcarragh, Co. Donegal and her Dad from Castlederg, Co. Tyrone. However Ireland beckoned Lisa and she has now moved permanently to reside in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal. Her affairs are now looked after by Purple Heather Promotions Agency in Enniskillen.

A new promotion single entitled Catalog Dreams has just been released and radio presenters and media who have heard it are predicting it will bring Lisa up another step on her musical journey. Lisa came to prominence in late 2009 when she reached the final in the TV series Glor Tire on TG4. Having been mentored by one of Ireland's most popular singers Robert Mizzell she made 8 TV appearances and was a finalist in the series. She also recorded a duet with Robert entitled I Told you So that was included on Robert Mizzell's latest album 'Redneck Man'.

Old Fashioned Girl was Lisa's first single and through the Canadian based Hillcrest Distribution label it reached No 8 in the European Country Music Association Radio Chart Top 100. Her second single entitled I'm A Little Bit Lonely was also a big turntable hit again throughout Europe after her live performance on Showcase TV that is beamed throughout Europe as well as Ireland and UK. As a result of this there is already interest from some major country music festivals throughout Europe.

Lisa also writes a weekly entertainment column in the Donegal News under the heading 'Country Girl'. Recently an item in this column was picked up by the Irish Independent when Lisa rescued her brother-in-law Shaun on her quad bike at 3am in the morning during the last snowstorm.

As in the words of her latest single Catalog Dreams, Lisa McHugh has picked up her guitar, made that record and along with receiving her Newcomer Award 2010 has commenced her musical journey!
