Brilliant Young Russian Pianist At Ackergill

19th October 2009

North Highland Connections presents
"Young Artistes Series" Sasha Gracheva, a 15 year old Russian pianist at Ackergill Tower

Our final event of 2009 will be a piano recital at Ackergill Tower by the brilliant 16 year old Russian pianist, Sasha Gracheva, born in 1995 in Moscow. From age of five she has been studying at Gnessin School of Music for Grifted Children in Russia with Elena Tolkunova, making her debut performances at six, both as a pianist and a composer. In 2004 Sasha was a participant at the Granada Festival in Spain amongst just five "Genius Children-Composers".

In 2006 she gave a performance in Dover Town Hall in England and also in the same year she became a winner of the International Young Composers Competition, in Moscow. Sasha has taken part in some festivals and concerts in Moscow, Kaluga, Kazan and other cities of Russia and she is a regular performer at many prestigious venues. Now she is a pupil of Purcell School of Music with Tatiana Sarkissova.

The recital at Ackergill in April this year, given by Evelyne Berezovsky, could have been sold twice over, so we definitely advise early reservation!

The concert is on Thursday, 17 December at 7:30pm.

Admission is 12; concessions 10. There will be a paying bar before the concert, and during the interval.
