Rehearsals and Masterclasses in Strings For Local Pupils

19th October 2009

North Highland Connections

String Players Course Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama - RSAMD students and students from Highland Schools, directed by Robert Irvine.

Concert on 12/12/2009 by students on RSAMD string course.

As a part of our partnership arrangement with the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama, we promote regular student residencies and public performances. Earlier this year we had a very successful Shakespeare Festival at Ullapool, presented by the post-graduate drama course. In August we presented three talented young (North Highlands) performers playing an evening of Scottish Traditional Music at the new Mey Village Hall.

The strings residency will take place 10 - 12 December, at Tain, Ross-shire. A quintet of string players will be led by international cellist, Robert Irvine. They will present open rehearsals and master classes in which pupils from local schools will also take part.

On Saturday, 12 December there will be a public concert in the magnificent medieval Collegiate Church in Tain, at 7:30pm.

Admission will be 8; concessions 6.
