Dear Theatre-goer,
You are doubtless appalled at the state of British theatre of late. For too long actors, blindly following the so-called "Method" method, have sought to impress you the audience with nothing more than a tawdry show of second-hand emotion.
Enough we cry! Tonight we shall make amends. Our acting will not impress you. It will uplift and entertain you as we celebrate the wonder of Theatrical Technique in a feast of theatre, culminating in a rendition of King Lear that will leave you in tears.

In this anarchic character comedy, two of England's finest actors attempt to condense a lifetime's worth of roles into a single evening. It'll all end in tragedy.
Watch agog as the secrets of acting technique are put into action by twin collossususes of the stage, Chester Blenheim (star of long-running firefighter sex comedy Blue Watch; winner of Moustache of the Year 1987) and Hugh Carpenter (whose one man show Voyage Around My Uncle brought down the Berlin Wall; perhaps best known to older fans as the face of Lord Trumpet).
Be moved (to Yorkshire) by Alan Gordon Bennett's Talking Faeces, dutifully appreciative of the obligatory Chekov, and stirred by the spectacular Shakespearian showstopper! After tonight, you may never go to the theatre again.

Lyth Arts Centre Look To The Future Following Funding Award
Worries over the financial outlook for Lyth Arts Centre (LAC) have been eased for the time being after the venue was awarded £97,000 in Scottish Government funding. The sum - from the Performing Arts Venues Relief Fund - represents the full figure requested by co-directors Charlotte Mountford and Tom Barnes, who say the money secures LAC's short-term future up to the end of March next year.

Danish duo Andreas Tophøj and Rune Barslund perform with violin, accordion and viola. The accomplished duo has its roots in Jutland, Denmark, and emerged from the folk scene formed around the Academy of Music in Odense, which until recently was named after composer and musician Carl Nielsen.
