Nominations open for Arts & Business

19th March 2007

Scottish Awards 2007

Arts & Business Scotland has opened nominations for the Arts & Business Scottish Awards, which will take place at the Edinburgh Festival Theatre on 19 September 2007. The Awards encourage, acknowledge and celebrate exemplary partnerships between businesses and arts organisations.

This year there are eight awards on offer and Arts & Business is encouraging any business and arts partnership or sponsorship that has taken place between 1 March 2006 and 28 February 2007 to submit an entry.

An independent panel will judge nominations on the quality of the relationship established between the business and the arts partners, whether cash or in-kind. The innovative nature in achieving the commercial goals of the business and the artistic goals of the arts partner is also taken into account.

Our panel of Judges are:
Jane Wood, Head of Corporate Affairs, Scotland, Boots Company PLC (Chair)
Jane Ulke, Managing Director, WWAV Rapp Collins, Edinburgh
Keith Bruce, Arts Editor, The Herald
Phil Gibby, Director of Development, Welsh National Opera
Ken Miller, Head of Communications, SportScotland
Fiona Moriarty, Director, Scottish Retail Consortium

Deadline for nominations is 12.00 noon on Friday 11 May 2007.

Barclay Price, Director, Arts & Business Scotland said: "This is an opportunity to celebrate and recognise the crucial role that business plays in supporting the arts in Scotland, and our Awards, now in their 21st year, offer that opportunity.
