Embrace will be headlining at this year's Belladrum Festival on Saturday 12 August and showing their celebrity support for Samaritans, the emotional support charity.

Lead singer with Embrace, Danny McNamara, has been a long time supporter of Samaritans charity: "I remember contacting Samaritans when I was about 19. I was feeling really low, and knew that I needed to talk to someone. At the time, the idea of talking about my feelings seemed like the most difficult thing in the world. Samaritans helped me through a really tough time and after contacting them, I was able to make some major life changes.

If the thought of picking up the phone is too much for you, I encourage you to send an email. Emailing gives you the option of saying as little or as much as you want and someone will always respond no matter how big or small you think your problem is."
Danny McNamara and Embrace have backed numerous Samaritans campaigns, including the email service launch and recently donated three pairs of exclusive autumn tour tickets, with the chance to meet the band back stage, to raise funds for Samaritans '24:7' national fundraising and awareness day.

Samaritans received 4.8 million contacts last year and has had calls from people as young as nine and as old as ninety in its 53 year history. Samaritans is run entirely by volunteers in the UK and Republic of Ireland, and the service is available day or night by phone, email, letter and face to face.

Why Samaritans is important
By 2020 the World Health Organisation projects that depression will be the second most common cause of illness in the world, surpassing heart disease, AIDS and deaths in war.
In the UK and Republic of Ireland, suicide is the leading cause of death of men aged 15-34
13 million working days are lost through stress each year, equating to a loss of £3.7 billion to the UK workplace.
80-90% of people with major depression can be treated successfully but because of the stigma associated with admitting to emotional difficulties, only a third of those with depression seek help

Embrace will be headlining the Garden Stage at Belladrum Festival on Saturday 12th August.

Samaritans continue to work in the local communities of Inverness (01463 713 456), Elgin (01343 543 000) and Caithness (01847 895 656) supporting those in emotional distress, 24 hours a day seven days a week.
