SCOTTISH ENSEMBLE MUSICIANS IN RECITAL OCTOBER 18, 2015
CHAMBER MUSIC
During a Scottish Ensemble Residency based in Inverness, four of their musicians will make a trip to Lyth to work with The Caithness Orchestra.

The Scottish Ensemble musicians are:
Violin Cheryl Crockett
Violin Bas Treub
Viola Catherine Marwood
Cello Alison Lawrance

This is part of Scottish Ensemble's not just normal concerts when they plan a cluster of events in a specific location and move from the concert hall into the community. After meeting musicians from the string section of The Caithness Orchestra for a Sunday morning workshop both will perform the following works that afternoon:

Scottish Ensemble with Caithness Orchestra

Tchaikovsky - Elegie (from Serenade for Strings)

Scottish Ensemble

Some of the following duos, trios and quartets of which the final selection will be posted on this website on Friday afternoon, 16 Oct:

Re-defining the string orchestra, Scottish Ensemble inspires audiences in the UK and beyond with vibrant performances which are powerful, challenging and rewarding experiences. The UK's only professional string orchestra is based in Glasgow and is built around a core of 12 outstanding string players who perform together under Artistic Director Jonathan Morton.

Alongside performances across Scotland, the ensemble presents an annual series of concerts at London’s Wigmore Hall and has appeared at BBC Proms and the Edinburgh International, City of London, Aldeburgh and St Magnus Festivals. Recent invitations to tour abroad have resulted in engagements in Belgium, Austria, Turkey, Taiwan, and China. In 2013 the ensemble undertook an 11-date tour of the USA, performing in prestigious halls including Walt Disney Hall and New York Town Hall.
