Rushdance At Street Star Championships 2013

Rush.dance kids have just competed at Dance lines Street Star Championships, the Street dance competition is the biggest one of the year on the ADFP circuit. It took place in the Blackpool tower ball room which is one of the best dance venues around the UK.

Chloe MacGregor & Tyler Hutton took part in Duo’s for the first time together as they are in different age categories normally but as it was only the two of them going from Rush.dance we trained them together to compete in U10 Hip Hop duo’s.
Duo results – Chloe & Tyler danced there way to a Six dancer final and placed 2nd place.

They then went on to dance in their normal age category in Hip Hop Solo sections, each section was big with loads of kids from all over the UK, Ireland and Norway wanting to make the finals & try and achieve the top Street Star title.

Both kids danced fantastic on their way to the finals, once there number was called out to make the Grand final they had to do there dance-on in front of the whole hall of people watching. Both kids were nervous as this is the biggest competition they have danced at and by far the biggest crowd.

Solo results –
U8 Hip Hop Street Star Grand Final Chloe MacGregor 4th place.
U10 Hip Hop Street Star grand Final Tyler Hutton *WINNER* and now the overall Dance lines Hip Hop Champion for 2013, as Tyler has competed at all Three of Dance lines competitions this year taking titles at Brean, Euro dance Hip Hop Champion, Craig Tara, Scottish Festival Hip Hop Champion and now the Big one Blackpool, Street Star Champion 2013. Both kid made me So proud as a teacher with how they performed over the weekend, I also had some fantastic comments from other teacher about how much they have improved and how competitive they have become.

This is our last competition of 2013 for Rush.dance but reflecting on how great a year it’s been for us and our competitive kids, we have won some fantastic street dance titles on the way and our kids have been placed in some amazing street dance finals.

Rush.dance is growing as a school with new kids joining all the time and more kids taking up the challenge of competing against the best kids out there. Street dance is massive around the UK with more and more schools competing for these fantastic titles.
