Film Music - Mon 30th Apr 8pm, 2 x 45 mins. Suitable Age 8+ Raymond Scott wrote and performed remarkable musical scores for all the amusing 1940s Looney Tunes cartoons creating manic off-beat compositions to underscore the antics of characters like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck.
World Music - Wed 25th Apr 8pm, 2 hours including interval, suitable age 12+ At the centre of this group of well-travelled musicians is the distinctive sound of the bandoneon, that little accordion whose evocative note instantly creates images in one's imagination of the poignant drama of the tango and of an age of brilliantly-lit Buenos Aires ballrooms. But the music itself deserves to be listened to for its own sake and in this acoustic concert performance by young classically trained musicians you will be able to appreciate just how good it is.

Now they're back with the rollicking Irish comedy "The Matchmaker" and its cast of improbable characters, all in search of love.

The Centre is hosting this reception and serving a light supper.
Lecture - Lesley Ferguson Wednesday, 3rd August, 8pm, 1 hour including questions followed by tea, age 12+, foyer event As part of our focus on the life of John Nicolson (1843 - 1934), whose paintings hang in this year's exhibition , this illustrated talk by the Head of Collections, Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland, will cover the archaeological work Nicolson and Tress Barry undertook around 1890 excavating local prehistoric sites. .
