The library service in Caithness is running a competition to design a poster with surboard as the main theme. The are providing the basic chape and the design can be anything and the background any theme from Caithness.

An unusual exhibition of twenty performing automata from Cabaret Mechanical Theatre opens at the St Fergus Gallery, Wick on 10th August until 7th September. The machines, or mechanical toys, come to life when visitors press a button and activate the mechanisms.

THIRD ROUND OF SMALL GRANTS ANNOUNCED BY THE THEATRES TRUST The Theatres Trust is pleased to announce its third round of small capital grants to theatres across the nation, including one of the smallest theatres in the UK - the Tom Thumb Theatre in Margate - and the most northerly theatre in the mainland - the Mill Theatre in Thurso. Caithness Art Exhibition 78th Year - Get Entries Ready
Society of Caithness Artists. The 78th annual exhibition opens on July 23rd 2013 and runs untill Saturday 3rd August.BEATRICE WORKS by Sue Jane Taylor 
A new exhibition documents the construction and installation of the world’s first five megawatt offshore turbines near the Caithness coast. Internationally acclaimed Sutherland artist Sue Jane Taylor, famed for her work with the offshore oil industry and Piper Alpha Memorial Sculpture, has turned her focus to renewable energy in her latest exhibition entitled Beatrice Works, which opens in Thurso on Saturday June 8th before travelling to Aberdeen, Kirkcaldy and Kirkwall.

Rush Dance Caithness In Eden Court Video Project
Rush Dance Caithness have recently completed a Project for Eden Court, The project was run through Creative Scotland & Cash back for communities. (Scottish Government scheme) The task was to make a Music video, whilst teaching kids the art of Film making, Music production & Street dance, whilst putting it altogether to make one great video.

Caithness Horizons and North Lands Creative Glass [NLCG] have teamed up regularly since we opened our doors four and a half years ago. We have hosted presentations by many of the international residency artists who have visited the Lybster centre of excellence in glass since 2009, and audiences have been constantly surprised by the creative inventiveness and technical brilliance NLCG continues to support.
BBC ALBA TAKES COUNTRY ROADS TO CAITHNESS!
Country music fans should be on the lookout this weekend as BBC ALBA cameras will once again be covering the Caithness Country Music Festival which takes place in Halkirk from 29th to 31st March. The biggest Country Music festival in Scotland and indeed the UK, the Caithness Country Music Festival will see performances from a host of top stars from Ireland, the USA and Holland as well as local talent such as Slange Ava and The Chicken Pickers.Come & Play or Sing Handel's Messiah
All Singers and musicians are welcome to come and join the Caithness Orchestra for a day playing and rehearsing selected choruses and arias from Handel's "Messiah." The day (15th April 2013) will be conducted by Susie Dingle and will run from 10.00am - 5.00pm with breaks for lunch and snacks. At 4.00pm, members of the public are welcome to come and listen to an open play-through of the work covered during the day.
