St Fergus Gallery, Wick Library 29th March - 26 April 2014 High Life Highland would like to invite you and your friends to visit the new exhibition Art Forms in Nature, photogravures by Karl Blossfeldt which will be at St Fergus Gallery from 29th March – 26th April. Karl Blossfeldt (1865-1932) was a German photographer celebrated by the Surrealists and early modernists for his pioneering close-up images of plants and flora.
Rush.dance kids have just completed Maximum street dance championships 2014 in the Caird hall Dundee. As the results show we have had another fantastic day competing in Dundee.
We’re off of a brilliant start, with all our 170 MDF blank postcard size pieces of wood handed out or collected by locals from Caithness Horizons, St Fergus Art Gallery and Castlehill Heritage Centre in the first couple of weeks! We’re delighted with everyone’s enthusiasm to join in. Now they are getting arty and inspired by the SEA, wonderful artwork has started to be returned and I’ve been adding images to the blog as it arrives.

The Caithness Collection by Gavin Macqueen Gavin Macqueen, a former student of Wick High School and Thurso College, left Caithness in 1998. But, he returns so regularly a Weeker recently remarked that Caithness must be his "spiritual home".

Rush.dance kids have just completed their first Street dance competition of 2014, when they travelled to Motherwell to take part in MAD Street dance Scottish Championships. Results on the day � It was first time out for Troy Giles (4 years old) and he danced amazing in U5 Solo, making his teachers & his parents proud.
The National Theatre will broadast its live performance of Coriolanus by William Shakespeare around the world and Thurso Cinema will get all the action on Thursday 30th January 2014. National Theatre Live will broadcast the Donmar Warehouse�s production of Coriolanus, Shakespeare�s searing tragedy of political manipulation and revenge, with Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers, War Horse (film), BBC's The Hollow Crown) in the title role and Mark Gatiss (Season's Greetings at the National Theatre, BBC's Sherlock) as Menenius, directed by the Donmar's Artistic Director Josie Rourke.

Cafe Exhibitions Christmas Exhibition extended Throughout January For the rest of January the Christmas exhibition, a collection of smaller works by various local artists, will be on show in the caf�. All paintings are for sale.
Mr Boom will land the Space Ship Imagination at the Wick Pipe Band Hall. Fun for younger bairns at Wick Pipe Band Hall.
The Wick Pipe Band Hall will be the venue for a traditional music concert on Saturday 14th December 2013 starting at 7.30pm. The concert will feature the well known musician Carol-Anne MacKay along with some of the musician friends she has met along the way and some of her pupils.
