Two of Scotland's foremost traditional musicians, Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain will be taking their Scotland 2014 tour to Wick's Assembly Rooms on Thursday 7th August. High Life Highland and the St Fergus Foyer Gallery would like to invite you to view a small exhibition of Figurative paintings by a local artist Mike Weeden. It is on display in our foyer space until 28th July and will be accessible during the library building's opening hours as well.
Fresh from the success of their recent appearance at the Caithness Music Festival, where they scored one of the highest marks of the week (an outstanding 90) the Caithness and North Sutherland Adults Choir are looking for new members to join their very successful, fun choir. At present there are approx 30 enthusiastic female members who would welcome any new members with a healthy appetite for singing for pleasure.
Rush.dance Competition kids have just competed at Scotland's Biggest Street dance competition of the year so far, our kids put themselves up against the very best dancers in Scotland at the UDO Scottish Championships in the Royal Concert hall Glasgow on the 8th June 2014. Results on the day - It was only their second time out competing for our new all girl crew.

ARTIST ROOMS: Douglas Gordon Caithness Horizons, Thurso, Caithness, Scotland 10th May - 11th October 2014 An exhibition of work by the internationally acclaimed, Turner-Prize winning artist Douglas Gordon takes place at Caithness Horizons in Thurso. The works on show – which include three video installations and one text piece – have been presented by Douglas Gordon to the ARTIST ROOMS collection, and are being shown for the first time since their acquisition.
