Society Of Caithness Artists Offer An ON-LINE Exhibition
In the absence of their usual Summer Exhibition in Thurso, The Society of Caithness Artists offer all artists with a Caithness connection an opportunity to exhibit with the Society as part of their on-line exhibition.   The Society recognises the negative impact the present situation of galleries and exhibition closures has on individual artists so offer this alternative.

ONLINE VERSION OF SCOTTISH OPERA'S PRIMARY SCHOOLS TOUR SHOW FEVER! AVAILABLE FOR THE FIRST TIME From today (11 May 2020), schools and families can access online teaching resources for Scottish Opera's popular primary schools production, Fever! Created especially for children in primaries 5, 6 and 7, the show, which was first performed by Scottish Opera in 2011, features music by Alan Penman and lyrics by Allan Dunn.  A staple of many Scottish schools' calendars, this is the very first time an online version of the tour has been made available, bringing the funny and fast-moving story to living rooms up and down the country, culminating in a nationwide virtual performance at the end of June.

SOCIETY OF CAITHNESS ARTISTS - ON-LINE EXHIBITION
This will be a "Showcase exhibition" where artists can display up to 4 works by uploading images.  Images will be uploaded to the Society's website and the exhibition will be publicised through various routes including social media and local press.

Royal National Mod Moved Forward One Year
Following its decision to postpone the Royal National Mod in Inverness until October next year, event organiser An Comunn Gaidhealach has released its upcoming schedule of host venues.   The annual event will now take place in Inverness from October 8-16, 2021, due to concerns about coronavirus ahead of the planned event this year.

Museums - Digital Resilience Covid-19 Fund
Museums can apply for up to £3000 to purchase equipment and software that will enable them to adapt to more digital working during the period of closures brought about by the Coronavirus outbreak and the associated restrictions.   This fund is designed to support museums to purchase equipment and software that will enable them to adapt to more digital working during the period of closures brought about by COVID-19 and the associated restrictions.

Fèis Rois To Host Online Traditional Music Festival Next Month Live on Facebook
One of Scotland's leading traditional arts organisations, Fèis Rois, has lined up some of Scotland's top musicians and singers for an online traditional music festival, after having two of its popular annual events cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.   Fèis Rois ran its first Adult Fèis in 1990 and sadly had to cancel its 30th anniversary event, which usually takes place in May, due to the pandemic.

Creative Scotland has launched three funding programmes designed to provide further support to sustain the country's creative community during the COVID-19 outbreak: A Creative Scotland Bridging Bursary Fund will help sustain creative practice by freelance creative professionals who have lost earnings due to the cancelation of work as a result of COVID-19.   A parallel Screen Scotland Bridging Bursary Fund will provide similar one-off bursary support to self-employed screen sector workers The Open Fund: Sustaining Creative Development will provide support for individuals and organisations to sustain their creative development in the coming months.

Event Cancellation - The History Of Wick Players
"Wick Players are sorry to announce that due to the restrictions suggested by the government, the talk on the history of the club which was to take place on Thursday 19th March has been CANCELED.  Cancelling is something we would have liked to have avoided, however, due to the ongoing issue of COVID-19 we have taken many point into consideration and have taken on the advice suggested.
