Highland Schools And Communities Celebrate The Queen's Diamond Jubilee
Schools and local communities in the Highlands are celebrating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in a variety of ways over this weekend and the rest of June.   From the Castle of Mey in Caithness to Arisaig and Portree to Nairn, at tea parties, beach parties, and barbeques bunting will be flying throughout the Highlands.

MULTI AGENCY PARTNERS GET MESSAGE OUT PRIOR TO ROCKNESS 2012
The Highlands' premier music festival, Rockness, is just a week away and multi-agency partners are urging revellers to stay safe and enjoy their weekend.   Representatives from Northern Constabulary, NHS Highland, Highland Council, Highlands and Islands Fire and Rescue Service, British Red Cross, Scottish Ambulance Service and Highland Alcohol and Drugs Partnership gathered at the Loch Ness site today to encourage attendees to make the most of their weekend, whilst balancing that with a responsible attitude towards personal safety.

Caithness and Sutherland Provincial Mòd - "Continuing the Legacy"
Provincial Mòd organisers are hoping that the local Mòd to be held in Wick this coming Saturday 2nd June 2012 will add to the legacy created when the county hosted the National Mòd in October 2010.   There is a cautious increase in adult solo entries with a noted addition of Nairn Gaelic Choir visiting the county for the first time at any of the local Mòd locations in previous years.

Inspiring Young People Make Short Films For BBC
Young talented people from Shetland, the Outer Hebrides, Ross-shire and Moray have been working to deliver inspiring films which were commissioned by the BBC.   Working with ScreenHI, which develops the film industry in the Highlands and Islands, the youngsters have created five short films focusing on the themes of literacy and citzenship.

Young Highlanders Heading For Perth Music Festival
Young musicians from Highland head to Perth for inaugural music festival.   On Friday 8 June, young musicians from the Highlands will join others from across Scotland and the North of England to take over the city of Perth as they perform in Music for Youth's first ever National Festival Scotland.

The National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music, Plockton High School, West Ross, is pleased to announce the dates for their whole school tour, with shows in Ullapool, Tain, Wick and Strathpeffer before the tour concludes with the final concert at Plockton.   The concerts will feature the 24 students in 7 bands, and also playing all together in a powerful finale.
