Crochte Highland Contemporary Arts/Crafts Showcase 2012

Crochte are looking for high-end, original Highland artist/makers to take part.

Crochte is a high quality, selected showcase, where cutting edge designer-makers are given the opportunity to sell their work directly to the public.

The pop up gallery (6 months in total) will be in the Eastgate Shopping Centre, Inverness, providing a unique shopping experience and widening audiences for arts and crafts. The centre enjoys exposure to roughly 25,000 customers a day and the largest catchment population in Europe.

Makers will be selected to take part in a two week showcase for their area.

Crochte is a selling showcase for High-end Highland artists/makers. The Highlands are split into regions, each region having 2 weeks within the gallery to promote themselves and their region. The gallery will be unit 40 next to The Bodyshop. The gallery is fully staffed avoiding costly time away from making, accommodation and travel cost etc. for artist/makers. However artist/makers are welcome to be present during their regions showcase. The artist/makers pay a fee to exhibit but keep 100% of sales. The fee covers rent, rates, service charge, marketing, electricity, staffing etc.


Eligibility
We welcome applications from artists/makers working in ceramics, jewellery, textiles, basketry, metal and silversmithing, books and paper, glass, wood, plastics, mixed media, furniture, fashion clothing and accessories, interior textiles, accessories, painting, drawing, graphic design, photography and print-makers.

Applications must be from the artist/maker and work should NOT be mass produced.
Collaborations from artist/makers will be considered.

Argyll & Bute 10th - 23rd Aug
Skye & Lochalsh 24th Aug - 6th Sept
Ross & Cromarty 7th -20th Sept
Outer Hebridies 21st Sept - 5th Oct

Selection
The closing date for applications is the 1st May.

Crochte exhibitors are selected by a small panel. During the selection process all six of your images will be viewed on screen and print. The selectors will also choose a reserve list of exhibitors. Should an exhibitor cancel it will be filled from the reserve list.
You will be notified of the panel's decision by the 3rd May.
