Aliens fly in for Halloween Show

25th October 2011

The 2011 Inverness Festivals Winter programme starts Friday 28th October with an event that is expected to see hundreds of children in costume heading to the banks of the River Ness in order to save their city.

"Alien Invasion - Close Encounters of the UFO" will be staged on Ness Islands from 6.30pm until 8.30pm for two nights (Friday 28th and Saturday 29th) and will feature the creative talents of Eden Court Theatre's Outreach Team, Arts in Motion and The Highland Council's Lighting Department and over 100 performers.

Following the arrival of a number of alien creatures in the Highland Capital over the past few weeks, Highland Council officials have noticed that the only thing that the Aliens seem to be afraid of are local children dressed as monsters; and have issued an appeal for youngsters to come to the show and help them send the creatures homeward to think again about invading the Earth.

As usual the Halloween Show will be full of surprises for the thousands of spectators who are expected to enjoy 1300m journey into the unknown around the popular Inverness beauty spot. To help ease congestion in the area, drivers are asked to park considerately away from the site and allow themselves plenty of time to walk to the show. Admission to the Halloween Show is free and sponsored by the Inverness Common Good Fund.
