"Waltz of the Cold Wind" - Paddy Cunneen
The last of our drama tours for 2009 will be a new three-actor drama created by Paddy Cunneen, first performed at Oran Mor, our Glasgow-based drama partners. Here is a synopsis of the work....
Each day Belle sits recording sounds, listening intently to sounds, and editing sounds. Sound is something that she loves more than anything else in the world. This is just as well since there is nothing else in her world....
One day, having discovered she can use her microphone to hear her neighbours through the walls, she records the voices in a flat above and big trouble follows. Belle retreats further and further into her isolated sound world, spending all her time listening to recordings of Antarctic winds. Then, after weeks of isolation, she hears something rather glorious in the flat upstairs...
The play was enthusiastically reviews by The Scotsman and The Herald, and should definitely not be missed! Performances are :
