Call For Artists - Open Studios Event In 2008

26th November 2007

CALL FOR ARTISTS

Highlands Open Studios are looking for new members for the Open Studios event in 2008. Dates for the Open Week in 2008 are May 31st - June 8th when members will throw open their doors to visitors to have a look round their studios and learn more about the artists work. HOS 08 is planning to hold a launch and exhibition at Easter and a month long exhibition in the autumn at a prestigious Highland Gallery.

The Highlands Open Studios 2008 group is a dynamic and exciting organisation of 99 artists, craft-makers and galleries, living and working across the Highlands from Ballachuilish in the south to John O'Groats in the north and from Tomintoul in the east right across to Dunvegan in Skye. Artists, both professional and semi- professional, are working together to promote and showcase the best of art currently available across the Highland region. Benefits to the members include exhibitions and promotion of your work with extra opportunities to make sales. Sometimes the life of an artist can be a solitary one and HOS can provide a network of like minded people who support and encourage each other.

Highlands Open Studios members are made up of a great variety of artists and makers. If you're a painter, a printmaker, a sculptor or photographer, craft-maker, book-artist, ceramicist, cartographer, glassblower, stained-glass artist, wood-turner, furniture maker, jewellery-maker, textile worker, tapestry artist or weaver, you are welcome to join.

Closing date for applications for inclusion in the 2008 Directory is December 1st.
