Tore Gallery - The Final Days

7th November 2012

OUR FINAL EXHIBITION
The final Christmas Exhibition at Tore is now largely hung, and from 10th November all the new work will be on view There's an emphasis on smaller paintings, and we also welcome several new artists including CATRIONA MACEACHEN with her jewel-coloured seascapes and sunsets (also lovely calendars) and LESLEY MURRAY who brings a most interesting collection of gifts and crafts inspired by books, both recycled and "upcycled". These defy description and must be seen! As always, lots to tempt you, and a visit to Tore might actually make Christmas shopping a pleasure!

CHRISTMAS CONCERT
SUNDAY 9th DECEMBER, 3 pm and 5 pm (2 performances)
JAMES ROSS directs the singers of MUSICK FYNE and musicians of MARVEL OF PERU in a traditional Christmas Concert featuring 18th/19th century carols and plenty of chances to sing along, fuelled by the best mulled wine and home made mince pies ever. Please join us for Tore's very last concert - it will be memorable.
BOOKING ESSENTIAL - by phone with a plastic card, or send a cheque,or in person. Tickets £12, proceeds to the Highland Hospice. Following too many "no shows" last year, all tickets must be paid for in advance this time (sorry). Book on 01463 871444 or 07913 033142

RETIREMENT CALLS
By now most of you have heard that the gallery will be closing its doors on Christmas Eve after almost a decade of promoting the art and artists of the highlands. I am looking forward to many productive days in the studio! Meanwhile we are very much open for the pre-Christmas season, and look forward to seeing you. This is not a final goodbye as there'll be another newsletter next month.
I painted this Field of Sunflowers for the Highland Hospice Christmas Auction, and you can bid for it on their website!

New Project: PAINTING HOLIDAYS
If you fancy a relaxing and (what's more) affordable painting holiday in the Highlands in a comfortable country house set in fantastic landscape, look no further! Jane Weston and myself can offer wonderful food and the good company of like-minded people. Instead of structured tuition, we welcome painters of all levels of experience who would like to get on with their own thing and benefit from discussion with others. Tutors with their own groups, or special interest groups, are also invited (tuition can be arranged if required). For full details see our website www.spanglefish.com/paintscotland

Gallery Website
Don't forget that most of the paintings in the gallery are shown on our comprehensive website. This is a small watercolour "Shore Croft" by Miriam Smith.
