DRAMA CPD FOR PRIMARY TEACHERS

A new pilot CPD course in Drama has been developed for primary school teachers in Highland. The course has been developed by Highland Council, in partnership with Eden Court Theatre's Out of Eden programme, to provide teachers with the opportunity to learn some drama techniques to implement in the classroom. The first courses were delivered at in schools and at Eden Court during the 2008/09 academic year with over forty teachers attending from schools across Highland, the course was facilitated in English and through the medium of Gaelic for GME teachers by Out of Eden Drama Workers. The course is being offered again to teachers in Highland in the new (2009/10) academic year.

The course is delivered over three sessions:
Session 1 - Releasing Creativity
Session 2 - Impro
Session 3 - Mime

A teachers pack accompanies the course which contains all of the lesson plans taught in the course with additional ideas for drama games and working with a script.
