Description Master Class Programme: 'Sources of Inspiration'

Session 1:
5 - 13 July: 'Duo in Still Life', Bullseye Master Class with Deborah Horrell and Mel George. This class will use various mould making techniques, glass bodies (powders, frits, billets etc) and packing techniques to allow for both hollow ans solid cast vessels.

Session 2:
27 August - 4 September: 'Tradition and Innovation'. In collaboration with April Surgent, Jiri Harcuba will lead a course in which students will re-examine the various techniques of glass engraving.
27 August - 4 September: 'Articulation Ideas into Objects', Master Class with Richard Jolley based in the hot shop. The class will develop personal concepts/icons by utilizing the techniques of drawing, photography, and thinking 3-dimensionally to enhance idea development and then will endeavor to actualize these ideas.

Session 3:
9 - 17 September: 'Landscapes and Mirrors', Master Class led by Ann Wolff in collaboration with Berlin based architects Jean-Marc Abcarius and Christopher Burns will explore the relationship between landscape and the reflected image.
9 - 17 September: 'Broken Tradition', Master Class with Tobias Mohl and Janusz Pozniak examining hot glass techniques.

6 - 7 September 2007: North Lands Creative Glass 12th Annual International Conference 'Sources of Inspiration'. This two day conference with a wide range of speakers examines sources of inspiration. Speakers confirmed include Master Class Leaders Richard Jolley, April Surgent Ann Wolff, Chirstopher Burns and Jean-Marc Abcarius. Demonstrations by Master Class Leaders Jiri Harcuba in the Kiln room and by Tobias Mohl and Janusz Pozniak in the Hot Shop; also including talks by Jeremy Myerson, Tina Oldknow, Philip Eglin, Dagmar Brendstrup and Geoff Opie. Recently re-branded North Lands Creative (Formerly North Lands Creative Glass) has successfully completed a re-structuring and held an international conference ahead of an exciting new programme of activities.  Located in the delightful village of Lybster, Caithness the organisation is planning a colourful, vibrant and engaging programme of workshops, classes and exhibitions on the Lybster campus, complimented by associated events that include bite-size tours, studio talks, curator/ artist in conversation events, workshops and schools visits.
