Big Willow Deconstruction Show:

The Story of the Stones
(Sgeulachdan nan Clachan)

in collaboration with Blazin Fiddles

26th May 2007, Brahan Estate, near Dingwall
Gates open 7pm. Performance 8pm.
Tickets: £15 and £10 (concessions)

Sculptor Patrick Dougherty created a huge willow sculpture, based on standing stones, in May 2006 at the Brahan Estate, near Dingwall. It has been available to view since then and will continue to be until this closing event, when te POOKa will BURN IT DOWN!!! This closing show will take a step into the supernatural Highlands: standing stones, prophecy, superstition, folklore and heritage. The show will link the Highlands past and present, and celebrate the construction and destruction of the Big Willow sculpture.

The audience will be led through the woodland in an enchanting procession of glowing paper lanterns and fantastical creatures. The magical promenade ends at the waterfront. Here the audience enters a world of myth and magic.

Blazin Fiddles will create the soundtrack for the show, playing reels, jigs and airs from all corners of the Highlands to sketch images in the mind as Scotland's ancient history and modern folklore are brought to life through music, fire and circus.

The show will culminate with the ritual burning of the sculpture!

Outdoor non - seated event. Come equipped! The event will be signposted from Maryburgh.
