Wildcat Traditional Music Association - Monthly Newsletter

21st June 2006

Hi Folks, late again with this, but better late than never.

Due to very poor attendances over the last few months, we find ourselves with a cash flow problem!

This is the reason we do not have a guest artiste this month.

What we are going to try is a "Folk Club" type session and singaround.

So if you are a instrumentalist, singer, storyteller why not come along and join some like-minded folks for a night of music and song, and who knows what else!

Pentland Hotel, Thurso,
Saturday, 24th June. 8:00 PM

At some point in the evening we would like to canvass opinions on any improvements or suggestions anyone has. So have a think about it before hand, and keep note for Sat night.

I've attached a copy of our history so far over the last four and a half years for your perusal, and I think you'll agree, the poor attendances have had nothing to do with any lack of quality of our guests.

Also, as you can see, it has the dates of our future guests.

Hope to see lots of you on Saturday night!

It seems like ages since Tich Frier's visit on the 12th of August, and a grand night of song and laughter it was too! It was satisfying to find the wee man on great form and in good health, following his skirmish with the Big C.   But now, for your delectation: "COCKERSDALE" SATURDAY, 24TH SEPTEMBER 8:00 PM PENTLAND HOTEL,THURSO, SUPPORTED BY "CLAPSHOT" This is a night not to be missed, not necessarily because Clapshot are performing outside their usual haunt of the Commercial Bar, Thurso, but because we have one of England's top harmony groups making a rare appearance in Scotland.
