‘FIGURE DRAWING' At Northlands Creative Glass

Northland Creative Glass Studio, Lybster.
Our figure drawing class will be innovative and fresh.
Drawing with a variety of tools, using a range of media while working from the human body. You will have the option to use / it will include some of the following techniques: drawing on glass, sculpting in clay, printing.
10.30am - 1.00pm (Tutor Available, Optional)
2.00pm - 3.30pm (Self Directed Session)
Cost: £10 per Session , £18 for the day
A discount of £30 if all 18 sessions are booked in advance.
The Alastair Pilkington Studio was first opened in July 2002 by H.R.H. Prince Charles. 2014 has seen the completion of capital developments to extend the Studio and residential accommodation. The development project was funded with the generous support of European Regional Development Fund, W Grant & Sons Charitable Trust, Dan Klein Memorial Fund, Creative Scotland, Highland Council Discretionary Fund and Friends of North Lands Creative Glass. A new light, bright and airy Studio workshop space has been created and a Pinelog Lodge installed which provides new accommodation for visiting artists, makers and community groups.

Any seed when planted needs many things in order to flourish and grow. North Lands Creative Glass was a seed sown in 1996 in the small fishing village of Lybster on the North east coast of Scotland and over the past 20 years the people and place of Lybster and Caithness have provided good fertile nourishment.

The Board of North Lands Creative Glass is delighted to announce the appointment of Jeffrey Sarmiento as Artistic Director from 1 October 2016. He will succeed Emma Woffenden on the completion of her inspiring three-year term of office, culminating in North Lands 20, the anniversary celebration of its first master class and conference in 1996.
Portfolio Programme. With the support of the Highland Youth Arts Hub, North Lands Creative Glass are offering 10 young people the rare opportunity to attend 2 fully funded residential courses, on site in Lybster.

In 2016 North Lands Creative Glass celebrates 20 years of experimenting with glass and connecting with the world from a remote Scottish village. As part of our celebrations, we are looking for any film taken at any North Lands events over last 20 years to be sent to us.
North Lands would like to say a huge thank you to our regular lampworking tutor, Ian Pearson and Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd for their kind donation of torches, lathes and cutting and polishing equipment from the now retired nuclear facility. Ian has worked tirelessly to make the donation possible and it has taken him two years to process all the authorisation paperwork.
