Blas Festival 2013 - School and Community Programme

5th June 2013

6th - 14th September 2013

Now in its sixth consecutive year, the Blas School and Community Programme has been developed by High Life Highland's Creative Learning Leader to offer an exciting range of events and activities to inspire and involve children and young people in the annual Blas Festival. The Blas Festival has established itself as the Highlands' premier Gaelic and traditional music festival and was inspired after a Highland Council visit to Cape Breton's Celtic Colours festival.

'Blas' takes place in venues across the Highlands and includes an eclectic line-up of local, national and international artistes. In addition to the main concerts, the Blas Schools and Community programme offers a comprehensive Education Programme and inspiring Creative Learning activities are available to Highland schools during the festival.

The busy programme includes private performances in schools by some very special Blas musicians, live and interactive theatre, a wide range of drama, storytelling and dance workshop activities and the opportunity to engage with professional artists, all at no cost to the school!

As well as the School and Community Programme, ALL tickets to the performances and events within the main Blas Festival Programme are available to school pupils for just £5!

If you would like to take part in the Blas Schools Programme please register your interest by contacting Amy MacLeod, High Life Highland Creative Learning Leader on amy.macleod[AT]highlifehighland.com
