Young Highland performers prepare to celebrate their musical achievements at showcase concert festival.   Over 300 young musicians from across the Highlands have been busy rehearsing for their showcase Concerts Festival which will feature performances from eight different groups in collaboration with internationally acclaimed Scottish conductor Garry Walker and members of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.

Councillor Ken Gowans, Chair, The Highland Council’s Inverness City Arts Group, is delighted to announce the award of the first commission for the River Connections public art project in Inverness.  Focused on the banks of the River Ness in the centre of the city, the £60,000 commission will be delivered by Moray visual artist Mary Bourne.

Results on the day – U10 Beg/Nov Crew, SO HYPE placed a massive 3rd place with only their 3rd time dancing as a crew.  So Hype Went up against another seven Scottish crews in Under 10’s and to place top 3 was amazing.

The Halloween Show Ghost Train held in the Ness Islands, Inverness on Friday and Saturday evenings proved a big attraction, with a record crowd attending on Saturday.   It was the second major event of the Inverness Winter Festival, organised by The Highland Council.
