Sax-player Brian is popular with Caithness jazz fans who have enjoyed his masterclasses. We are delighted to present his quartet to give a live performance of their new album CLOCK.
Lyth Arts Centre welcomes a group of aspiring young musicians who have been attending weekly "jam sessions" at Thurso Youth Club facilitated by Highlife Highland Youth Work staff and local musician Andy Williamson. Andy has been mentoring them while they try out cover versions of some of their favourite chart numbers and write, perform and record their own songs.
A welcome visit from one of Scotland's most revered theatre companies. They bring us a production of an excellent Canadian play by Michael Healey which has received considerable attention both in Canada and the UK since its debut in 1999.

In 2013 both Angus and Duncan combined their musical talents and bands to launch their albums of the commissions in a double bill concert at Celtic Connections Festival.

Although this is a free performance arranged by The Touring Network as part of nationwide celebrations for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, booking is required.
The Far North Youth Orchestra Suitable for all ages - babies and toddlers welcome! The orchestra has been established this year as part of Lyth Arts Centre's community development programme. Musicians are all 8/13 years old and come from the north and west Highlands.

20th April 2014 Visionary guitar virtuoso Simon Thacker and the outstanding young Polish cellist Justyna Jablonska present Karmana (Sanskrit for "performing anything by means of magic"), combining elements from classical, jazz, Indian, Flamenco, Celtic, Balkan and other powerful musical systems mixed with Simon's unique experiences performing with musicians from around the world, resulting in an exhilarating meeting of musical styles, cultures and traditions, performed by two leading musicians. Karmana mingles compositional ingenuity, captivating rhythmic invention and improvisational grace and fervour with the incredible sonic palette of guitar and cello.
